Alleluia! I love my electric range, and the fridge, the vacuum cleaner, oh yeah, and the washer and dryer, (my mom had a wringer washer and a clothes line when I was young) This computer is pretty cool as well. If I had to choose just one appliance, I would be very hard pressed to make a choice. DId I mention my sewing machine?

I would have loved to have met your aunt!

What convenience item do you appreciate the most?

I would say “believe in yourself!” It took me another twenty something years before I truly started to believe in my own abilities- and the potential was there all along! I would say if you don’t feel good around someone- run like hell! And if you don’t like yourself when you’re with someone- you are in the wrong place.

Sacrifice is a big word. I am reasonable sure I could always sacrifice more, also like to think I am generous on many levels. Like all areas of our lives, there is always room to improve. This is the perfect time of the year to make those adjustments and continue to give~

Don’t take yourself too seriously.
In my twenties I felt I had to prove something, that I could be the best wife, the best mother, the best homemaker, the best seamstress, the list went on and on. Now, years later, I realize nobody else really cares. Who exactly, was I trying to prove this too? In my thirties I got an ulcer, well no wonder. This is where to take care of yourself first as Linda states is good advice because it makes it easier bring balance to your priorities.

It is hard to say one thing, but looking back the best advice that was ever given to me was “Be where your at”. When your at work, work, when your at home, be there with your family and enjoy. We are always trying to multi-task and miss the task at hand. I’m cheating and saying 2 things to the “20 somethings”, take care of your body, mind & soul. If your not happy with yourself, your cheating your family out of the true gift of being yourself. I believe there is a patern here…..

To be in the moment. I also remember trying so hard to get to “the next level”. Rushing and hurrying, when now I see how much I missed just being there. I hope that as our next generation moves forward, they worry less about what they don’t have, and just enjoy what they do have.

I love your story Lou. I can relate & laugh at your comments. My husband & family hunt, so there is many a deer tale told after the hunt. Treasure those moments together & hold onto those stories, they make for great conversation.
